Bakers Oven was originally owned and operated by Allied Bakeries. In 1994, as part of its strategic expansion plans into new geographic areas, Greggs plc acquired Bakers Oven. The acquisition established a second brand for Greggs plc and enhanced its presence particularly in the South, the Midlands, and East Anglia.

Almost 500 Bakers Oven shops joined Greggs plc. Some of these remained under the Bakers Oven name, many with cafés and the majority supplied by in-store bakeries. The majority were incorporated into the Greggs brand, and this enabled the company to establish a second division in the South East, Greggs of Twickenham.

Today Bakers Oven has a portfolio of 165 shops throughout the UK. The majority are supplied by in-store bakeries to ensure the best possible range of freshly baked bread and tasty bakery products are available throughout the day.

The company is justifiably proud of the coffee it sells both in its cafes and for takeaway customers. Bakers Oven coffee was created through careful research into our customers tastes, and is a unique mix of the finest Arabica coffee beans from Columbia, Brazil, Central America and India. The beans are richly roasted for optimum flavour before our experts blend them to create a coffee worthy of the Bakers Oven name. A range of speciality coffee’s are avaliable throughout the Bakers Oven shops ensuring we can cater for all our customers tastes.
