Apprentice Baker:

Every shop is founded on the same principles – our values, excellent customer service, great teams, great products and a great place to work.

Bakers Oven NVQ Apprenticeship programme is awarded via City & Guilds and is a vital part of the future growth of the business. We believe our apprenticeship programme will be recognised as one of the very best and can eventually lead to a senior management position via “The Pathway to Excellence”. The Pathway identifies unique stages in which individuals can aspire to promotion, depending on their development and skills.

Artisan Skills Apprenticeships: Baking is one of the oldest craft skills. Over the last couple of decades the proud heritage of developing Artisan craft skills through the tried and tested “apprentice to the Master” concept has been in sad decline. But things are changing and we are proud to be leading the drive to put the baking industry back on the map by developing our own craft apprentice programme that has NVQ status, recognised by City & Guilds.

So what do you need to have to apply? Firstly, a passion for food would be helpful, as would a determination to succeed and a willingness to learn. Unlike other craft apprenticeships, we are not asking for qualifications. If you have some that’s great but we believe a positive attitude, coupled with enthusiasm will also go a long way to helping you succeed.

“The people are really nice, especially in my shop. My hours of work are good, I start at 4am and finish about 12 noon and then I get the rest of the day to myself! There is always someone there to support me or to talk to if I need it. I take a lot of pride in what I do and I get a real feeling of achievement every day.” Chris Lewton – Apprentice Baker

If you would like to become part of our busy team, and you think you’ve got what it takes to make the most of the opportunities on offer then we would love to hear from you.
